PK Lures was founded in 2009 by Pat O'Grady, an avid angler, inventor, and designer from Cheyenne, Wyoming. Pat nicknamed his lures as “Pat's Killers”, which eventually is where PK Lures got its trademarked name brand. In 2011, Tim Geni from Regina, Saskatchewan, was doing a promotional show on Last Mountain Lake with a camera crew and landed a 33 3/4" walleye on a PK Spoon which qualified for a new IGFA World Record Catch and Release Walleye. In 2015, Darin McWilliams caught a 34 1/4" walleye on Lake Winnipeg on a PK Flutterfish, which qualified for another new IGFA World Record Catch and Release Walleye.

In 2017, Curt Reeff (current Owner/Designer) was on Lake Oahe fishing crappies and was outfished by his cousins which were using the PK Predator. Out of curiosity and wanting to know more about the company, Curt reached out to Pat and they scheduled a fishing trip together on Lake Winnipeg for February 2018. Shortly after the fishing trip, Curt bought the company from Pat in June 2018.

Curt has moved the company to Linton, ND, and resides on the shores of Lake Oahe where he's able to test and develop new innovative fishing products. Since the purchase in 2018, the company has added an Open Water lineup of fishing lures and has more than doubled in size and has distribution throughout North America. Curt is an avid angler and tournament angler, and has cashed a few checks at the National Walleye Trail (NWT) level. He did it while putting his favorite PK Lures up against the best anglers in the world. Look for PK Lures in tackle shops near you or have your fishing managers reach out to us for store placement.
